The ICEA is an environmental ethics governing body responsible for over 20 years of certification. In the early years, ICEA specialized in agriculture and food and then over time, ICEA extended its field of interest to green building, eco-friendly furniture, textiles, restorations, detergents and cosmetics. In 2008, ICEA developed requirements for fitness and wellness centers that wished to be certified. The ‘Bio-Wellness Certification’ ensures organic, all natural and environmentally sustainable wellness is employed at any given center.
Worldwide, there are many governing bodies that certify companies that comply with strict protocols making their operations more environmentally friendly. ICEA, however, is the first certification body that sets high standards not only for the treatments delivered by these spas but also for the products they use. Therefore, customers can rest assured knowing to what degree a company is environmental certified.
